An idea for startup dating...albeit a different way

Its a common practice for startups to pitch with their ideas at startup meet for recruiting like minded individuals. A couple of startup forums that I attended termed it as startup dating. It works fantastically well for both. The startup gets to recruit people who are willing to buy into the idea and the individuals interested to work in startup get an idea / venture they can connect with.

It's idea I would like to present with a twist. There are many individuals who have fantastic ideas, can visualize those ideas to the tee but however due one reason or the other are never able to do anything about it.

On other hand you have fantastic executioners who are willing to take the risks and have what it takes to make an idea a reality. However they may not be always good with ideas.

So what I propose is to create a platform where these two can interact, assess and collaborate to bring the ideas to their fruition. However the most challenging part of such a collaboration would be terms and conditions of engaging the other. If it does go through we may see more ideas coming to the fore and reaching their destiny achieving success they are meant to.

My First Salary

Can people share their experience about the first salary. For many people the first salary is really special and a moment to cherish, a stepping stone to achieving their dreams. To spending the money on themselves, to treating friends, to offering it to their parents, to some investing it...varied people have varied ways of celebrating the moment special. Probably the website can help people connect with each other and share what they actually did with their first salary. They can also act as mentor / counsel to others about what they need to do to earn their rightful first salary. How to negotiate, how to deal with the anxiety of being the first timer and other such insights which can be really helpful. Worth a thought but however needs to be explored further to bring it into reality.

On unemployment

How about an site on unemployment? On the same lines like my first salary (one of my earlier posts) why can't there be a website that lets people talk about unemployment. People will share their experiences about how they came to deal with a topic that is looked upon as a taboo and social stigma rather something which is a harsh reality of life or business need. Unemployment could be further categorized into those who have not been able to get any employment for whatsoever reason and those who have been employed / were entrepreneurs / businessmen before exigencies or circumstances pushed them into unemployment. Their viewpoints and experience sharing could help someone gain new perspectives and possibly avoid the same mistake and encourage others to take different route. I know this would be easier said than done. It would be big challenge to come out in the open talk about the challenges and distress caused due to unemployment but if something good is going to come out of it...

Social One or One Social

Digital world is blooming. Social networking site is the in thing. You have blogger, tumblr, wordpress, typepad for blogging. LinkedIn for business networking. Referral Key for sharing references and business leads. Twitter for micro blogging. Facebook for friends and relations. Instagram for sharing pictures. StumbleUpon to find new cool websites, images and photos across the web. Then there are aggregators like Feedly. Add Pintrest, Delicious, Reddit, Four Square....the list could simply goes on and on. And a hell lot of us want to be on almost all of them, track them and keep following them. But can't really keep up with it for we have to constantly log in and out from one app to another to another. Though OpenID solves the problem to some extent one still has to log in and log out. That's where the idea of Social One comes in. Social One would be an interface which accumulates all my social accounts on to a singly platform from where I can pick and choose what I n...
