Video Streaming: Lighter. Faster. Better

Image result for buffering

Of late I have begun streaming few video's on my mobile. Though it offers convenience the speed and quality of viewing is good, it leaves a lot to be desired. The buffering does not help either. That set me thinking. The idea though not a stroke of anything genius, is something worth considering. And I am sure that I am not the only person to have thought about it.

Was just wondering if a video format which is lighter, faster and better to stream on any device be it mobile, tablets or pcs could be made. A format which can run with amazing clarity and lightening speed without requiring the 3Gs and 4Gs and also keeps the data consumption to minimum. I may be asking for too much...but does better quality have to mean more data or more GB's..why not make it easy to transfer, stream and play on the go. If this does happen the volumes will automatically drive the data consumption. Today at least in countries like India one has to think about data charges, cry about buffering and speed and quality of viewing may not be really pleasing.

So a idea worth giving thought.....and I strongly believe anyone who does crack the code will open floodgate of avenues and opportunities for businesses especially for those in media and entertainment.

My First Salary

Can people share their experience about the first salary. For many people the first salary is really special and a moment to cherish, a stepping stone to achieving their dreams. To spending the money on themselves, to treating friends, to offering it to their parents, to some investing it...varied people have varied ways of celebrating the moment special. Probably the website can help people connect with each other and share what they actually did with their first salary. They can also act as mentor / counsel to others about what they need to do to earn their rightful first salary. How to negotiate, how to deal with the anxiety of being the first timer and other such insights which can be really helpful. Worth a thought but however needs to be explored further to bring it into reality.

Just a Crazy Little Idea

Service providers usually add late fee charges in case of delay of payment. It's a common practice and almost a norm across all sectors from banks to telecom service providers. The late fee charges in a way reinforce that bills need to paid on time or be prepared to bear the charges. There's nothing wrong in doing this and makes perfect business sense, rarely I have seen any one incentivise payment of bills before due date. This incentives need not be monetary, rather they can be in kind offering trade off for increasing customer satisfaction and enhancing customer experience. Imagine getting those extra minutes of talk time from your telecom service provider or an blockbuster movie exclusively for you by your DTH provider. It may sound like a crazy idea but then if one gives it a serious thought the impact will definitely worth try.

Call Reject Messages

How about an app that integrates call reject messages (I am busy; I am in a meeting; Will call you later) with Whatsapp, so instead of sending an SMS excusing for not attaining the call, one can do the same using Whatsapp.
