So much so for the pro and anti Diwali campaign. Both arguments are strong point of views. However much to my amusement in all the arguments and counter arguments, never did I once across someone proposing a solution or taking the trouble to find way out. If we can have eco-friendly food, manufacturing, automobiles, even Ganpati festival with eco friendly idols and a hell lot of other things then why not eco-friendly crackers & Fireworks - which keep the joy of Diwali intact and reduce the impact on environment. Though initially may prove cost intensive but given the scale at which it is celebrated it won't be difficult to break even. I believe there are few option that do exists they need to be promoted, given sops and taken to the masses.
